The Great Cookie Caper
I just returned from the 12th annual Great Cookie Caper, an event to benefit the Sangre de Cristo Girl Scout Chapter. The event was held at the Hilton hotel in downtown Santa Fe . I had the honor of serving as one of the judges for the deserts. The event showcased deserts from six local restaurants. Those participating were Blue Heron at Sunrise Springs, Hilton of Santa Fe, Kingston Residence, Joe's Diner, Garbo's at Rainbow Vision, and The Santa Fe Country Club. The chefs were required to make a desert that used one or more types of Girl Scout Cookies as an ingredient. All the deserts were good and very innovative - ever have baklava made with Girl Scout Shortbread Cookies?
In addition the great deserts there was a fantastic silent auction that featured art from many local artists.
All in all, it was a great event that raised money for a totally worthwhile organization.
